Townsend Heritage Center

I had an interesting day...I was commissioned to photograph the new Heritage Center in Townsend. I met the Director, Bob Patterson who took me on a brief tour of the facility which is dedicated to preserving the unique history and culture of the residents and Native Americans of the East Tennessee mountain communities.

While taking Sonic on his daily walk this evening, I came across these beautiful flowers just coming into bloom. I'm not sure what type of flower they are but the vivid blue color was very striking.

Cove Park

Yeah!!! We just finished our taxes...the earliest I can ever remember having them done. What a great feeling! We took Angela and her friend Chesney to Cove Park today...a little cold but otherwise a nice day. Angela is quite the camera ham.

First Post!

This is what I hope is going to be the first post in a continuation of further posts on at least a weekly if not daily basis. I am going to attempt to post at least a single photograph that I either take each day or from my archives with possibly a short quote to go along with it. I may also post anything that may be of relative interest to friends and family or anyone reading. I'm afraid that this may turn out to be a bigger challenge than it initially appears when it comes down to the discipline of actually doing this every day...we'll see. I took this photograph yesterday as I was walking "Sonic" down our greenway. I try to notice the simple designs that reveal themselves in nature.

There is a way that nature speaks, that land speaks. Most of the time we are simply not patient enough, quiet enough, to pay attention to the story. – Linda Hogan
