McLeod-Hillis Wedding

I'm a little behind updating my blog as I have been quite busy the last couple of weeks. I wanted to post a few images from the wedding of Michelle McLeod to Seth Hillis on October 14 at the Crowne Plaza in Knoxville. Wow...What a wedding! Thirteen hours of pure fun. As you can see below, it was a beautiful ceremony. I really love the color theme that Michelle selected which was carried through to the last detail. And the backdrop for the ceremony was designed and constructed by Michelle and Seth...Unbelievable! As you can see everyone had a great time. I can't wait to finish their album, it's going to be beautiful. Thanks again Michelle and Seth, I had a great time!

Update...I just uploaded Michelle and Seth's album and I think it turned out great...let me know what you think! www.waldorfphotographicart.com/gallery/mcleod-hillis

Fall is coming!

I drove up to Johnson City, Tennessee yesterday to meet with a wonderful couple who are getting Married July of next year - Kelly Martin and Ken Davis at the location of their reception, Maple Lane farm. What a beautiful day! As I was coming in to Johnson City the sun was breaking through a cloudy sky and forming unique patterns of light on the hillsides. There was this one hill that caught my eye as I drove by...a lone tree poised above two interesting dissecting slopes. I waited as different patterns of light formed on the hillside and caught this one moment when the sun highlighted the tree over a shaded background.

Art is Authenticity

To capture great images you have to turn off the mental noise and become fully aware of each moment as it unfolds. If you are too consumed with all of the technical aspects or trying to "create" the image or moment you have completely missed the authenticity and reality of the moment which is its true beauty.

Zappa-Flinchum Wedding

I had the privilege of documenting the wedding of Carolyn Zappa to Keith Flinchum on Saturday. The ceremony was held at their turn of the century home they had just completed renovating in an historic section of Chattanooga. I have never seen such attention to detail and quality! It was a beautiful wedding and their two daughters were a joy to watch.
